West Coast Delights

You may remember I recently wrote about my participation to the very first Canadian Blogging by Post organized by Sam at Sweet Pleasures. You can now see what everybody prepared in the round-up published by Sam.

My box went out to Ontario and should be between the hands of its recipient by now. I can't wait to hear how she liked the things in it.

Meanwhile, I recieved a wonderful package filled with delicious things from the West Coast, from British Culombia to be more precise. Christine from Knife Skills prepared for me an assortment of gifts good enough to damn a gourmet.

Look at this !!!

A box of delicious milk chocolate and hazelnuts truffles in the form of hedgehogs. Isn't that cute !

A special blend of China, Darjeeling and Ceylon teas. Its name is "Empress Afternoon Blend". Mmmmm..... I feel totally spoiled.

Made by Christine's very competant hands, Black-Bottom Pecan Praline Bars and shortbread cookies studded with mini-chocolate chips. Delicious !!!

I'm getting ready for a gourmet evening complete with Empress Tea and chocolate sweets and cookies. Aren't you jaleous all ?!!! He he he... Too bad you can't come for this special evening.

Thank you so very much Christine for this Imperial gift !

Since last night I've been browsing your blog...and today I can say I finished reading all the entries!! You have a wonderful blog going on here.
While I was going through your harira post, I came across the question you posed as to why your dad eats dates first to break the fast...well, in the muslim culture it's a sunnah...that is to say that Prophet Muhammad(Peace be upon him) used to do so, and so muslims do so.
Is your dad a muslim?

you take such beautiful photography too
the squares with chocolate on them look D-I-V-I-N-E and I had to laugh a bit because
